    Hello IT Support,

I’m running into an issue with Windows 11 Update. One of the updates keeps failing with the following error:

    • Error Code: 0x80070103

I’ve tried retrying the update multiple times, but it keeps failing. From what I understand, this error usually relates to driver updates, but I’m not sure how to resolve it for this specific HP USB driver.

Has anyone experienced this issue before or found a reliable fix? Should I ignore the update, manually install the driver, or block it from reinstalling?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Greetings @lena, 0x80070103 error is common, especially with Windows trying to install a driver that is already installed or isn’t compatible.

    1. Ignore it if everything works fine
    2. Check which driver is failing ( Settings → Windows Update → Update history → Driver updates )
    3. Manually Install the correct driver from Dell/HP’s website
    4. Download Microsoft’s official tool: “wushowhide.diagcab → Run it and choose Hide Updates → Select the failing USB driver to block it that prevents Windows Update from attempting to install it again.

Thank you so much. I ignored it and paused the updates for a day, then resumed the updates, which clearly fixed the error. I highly recommend those steps, @norman
