  • "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer" error even with HP original cartridge

    Hi IT Support Team,

    I have an old HP Deskjet 4640 series printer. I have always used original HP 678 cartridges (black and color). However, out of nowhere, the printer started showing the error message:

    Incompatible Cartridge(s)

    The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer

    I’ve already tried the following steps to fix the error, but the error does not go away:

    1. Cleaned the cartridge head with soft cotton

    2. Restarted the printer

    3. Removed and reinstalled the cartridges

    I’d really appreciate it if you could suggest a way to fix this issue. I do not intend to take the printer to HP repair center.
